Appventure:
A brand about the feeling of sharing passions together...
Appventure - IOS Application - CASE STUDY

THE MISSION
The vast majority of people find travel tours for old fashioned and boring and most travel tour’s app have the same ordinary interface. The challenge was to create an app that was different from the competition, with a modern and dynamic style, just like Appventure.
SCOPE
Case Study
THE OUTCOME
The most important part was to understand how to position Betty’s differently. After the first analysis and user research I created an joyful, flexible brand identity that Appventure’s potentional users will fell in love with. The style reflects Appventure itself: a new and fun tour app.

THE IMPACT
I gave my best in this design project and learned a ton. I am glad that I kept the process user-centered. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to look at the problem with neutrality, nor can I spot some of the most fatal usability issues in my original design.

What is Appventure
Appventure is my case study project that I designed during the course I took from Google. Appventure is a tour discovery service that primarily allows for users to share their travelling taste with the press of a button. With current tour applications, generally people who what to join a tour, do not know anything about other tour participants (occupation, age, gender etc.) and this situation leads atmosphere of insecurity and may even end up not participating in the tour. I wanted to change the outdated tours perception with a social, modern and dynamic style.
What was the goal?
The goal of the project was building a new kind of adventure tour app for socialization. So that my first aim was to give users trust and let them know what is the next step with no surprises.
The process
PHASE 1 - Understanding Users
At this stage I focused on understanding the users needs and how we could find a fit with Appventure brand’s objectives. When analysing the competitors, it was easy to see that they all had a similar style in terms of colours. No one was really standing out.
Understanding the user
User Research
To define my target audience, location, age, and career informations are pointed out and 5 characteristics are specified for interwievs.
Personas
Jeffrey and Amanda were my personas to analize problem statement and user journeys.
Problem Statements
Our persona's problem statements are determined according to their paint points.
Journey Maps
My user journey helped me to understand every step of the experince and lead me to think my application structure also.

The process
PHASE 2 - Starting the design
Before moving onto high fidelity wireframes and mocks, I wanted to get a feel for what the core of the app would look like when put in front of me.

Findings through usability studies
After usability studies there were lot of findings which help me to revise and enhance my design such as, Users want to see other tour participants, users want more customization options and need to see tour prices with dates to compare them accurately.
The process
PHASE 3 - High Fidelity Prototype
After the prototype was finished, Appventure went through a set of usability tests. With some iterations during the process, I was happy with what I've created.
Takeaways
Being a travel enthusiast myself, working on Appventure was incredibly rewarding. I got to experiment with some of the new Adobe XD and Figma features, and narrow down my design process. Although I was not able to fully flesh out other features and designs I wanted to within Appventure due to time constraints, it's not to say I won't try to incorporate them in future projects down the line.
